ALWSC

Mission and Purpose

  • The ALWSC has been established for the Aurora Shores and Hawthorn of Aurora communities to provide a group of skiers and non-skiers a way to learn how to ski, barefoot and wakeboard as well as improve individual skill levels in each of these disciplines.

  • There will be club meetings, boat safety classes, learn to ski clinics and social events to meet other skiers and swap stories reliving moments on the lake, good and bad.

  • The ALWSC is an official member of USA Water Ski, the largest and most active water ski federation in the world.  USA Water Ski has a dual mission of promoting the growth and development of recreational water skiing, and organizing and governing the sport of competitive water skiing.

  • In addition, the ALWSC affiliation with USA Water Ski allows the ALWSC to provide insurance coverage for club members during ski clinics and when using the ALWSC Slalom Course.  Since insurance is provided through USA Water Ski, insurance coverage only applies to ALWSC club members who have also joined USA Water Ski.  You can’t ski the course unless you join both the ALWSC and USA Water Ski.

  • There will be many benefits in addition to the above mentioned, including store discounts, swap shop for used equipment, beginning and advanced ski clinics, and educational material.

We Believe

  • Water skiing builds strength, character, self confidence, competition skills, friendship, and strengthens the family unit
  • The tournament quality slalom course increases property values.
  • Safety is required for the enjoyment of the sport.
  • Teaching others is fun and highly promoted.
  • Therefore, we strive to respect others, maintain high integrity, openly communicate, and work with the ALA and the Aurora Shores and Hawthorn of Aurora communities to provide the best Slalom Ski environment possible.
